Today, Representative John James (MI-10) questioned the presidents of Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and University of Pennsylvania regarding the antisemitic rhetoric and acts taking place on college campuses.

During the hearing, Representative James said the following:

“The rhetoric on college campuses today is in lockstep with the heinous attacks and rhetoric we’ve seen against Jews throughout the 19th and 20th centuries," James said. "Many of us on Capitol Hill here and our constituents back home are fearful that you are failing to create a space where the issues of the day are debated without fear of cancelation or ostracism.”

Rep. James has been very vocal in support of Israel before and since the October 7th attacks by Hamas. Last month, Rep. James visited Israel and met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to learn more about the war in Israel.
