WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Representative John James (MI-10) joined Speaker Mike Johnson, House Education and Workforce Committee Chairwoman Dr. Virginia Foxx, and Representative Kevin Hern for the signing of Rep. James' H.J.Res 98, a Congressional Review Act (CRA) resolution to stop the Biden Administration's new joint employer rule.

This new joint employer rule forces liability on companies for another business’ employees even if they do not directly oversee them. The rule itself places unnecessary burdens on small business and franchisees, and stifles the American Dream.

Rep. James said the following after the signing of his resolution:

"We are one step closer to signing this resolution into law and putting an end to this administration’s anti-small business joint employer rule, which has put added strain on franchises and small businesses in my state and across the country,” said James. “My father started our family business with one truck, one trailer, and no excuses—and bucked the system by beating the regulations and working hard. He was able to attain the American Dream. But others with that same goal will not be able to achieve the American Dream as a result of Joe Biden’s joint employer rule. Joe Biden must sign my resolution into law and reverse his disastrous anti-small business policies.”

Rep. James' resolution has passed the House and Senate, and now heads to the President's desk.
