Congressman John James Returns Over $2.75 Million To Constituents Through Casework Efforts

WASHINGTON, D.C., August 14, 2024 | Noah Sadlier (202-225-4961)

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman John James (MI-10) announced that his office had returned a total of $2,785,874 to constituents through casework service efforts. Additionally, the team has solved 2,015 individual cases since taking office in January 2023. This is money that was owed to constituents, but was stuck in various federal agencies, such as the Internal Revenue Service, Department of Veterans Affairs, Social Security Administration, Department of Treasury, etc.

Rep. James issued the following statement regarding this accomplishment:

“Service before self is the principle that drove me to West Point, to serve in Operation Iraqi Freedom as a Ranger-qualified Apache pilot, to serve as a local business leader, and to serve my constituents in Congress. That principle has been my team’s mantra since taking office in January 2023. In less than two full years in office, my team in Southeast Michigan has closed over 2,000 cases and returned more than $2.75 million to hard-working Michiganders. This is money that was rightfully owed to them, and I’m thrilled that we were able to get it back where it belongs. Constituent service is customer service, and my team will continue to remain laser-focused on serving you in the district.”

Constituents are encouraged to call Rep. John James’ district office at (586) 498-7122 if they ever need assistance with a federal agency.
