Congressman John James Named Vice Chairman of Subcommittee on Water Resources and Environment
Washington, DC,
February 16, 2023
Contact: Abby Mitch Congressman John James, who serves on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, has been named vice chairman of the Subcommittee on Water Resources and Environment. “As a native Michigander, I am keenly aware of the importance of America’s waterways,” said James. “My district borders Lake St. Clair, a major player in Michigan health, recreation, manufacturing, industry, and even national security thanks to the Selfridge Air National Guard Base that sits on its shores. Ensuring that our nation’s resources are preserved and enhanced for future generations must be a priority for this Congress.” Subcommittee vice chairmanships are determined by Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Sam Graves (R-MO). Rep. James is the only Michigan Republican on the committee. He builds upon a legacy of Macomb County leadership that includes the late Rep. Paul Mitchell and current Macomb County Public Works Commissioner Candice Miller, both of whom served on the committee. |
