Today, Representative John James (MI-10) voted in favor of a 45-day resolution to avert a government shutdown.
James released the following statement following the vote:
“Yesterday, I voted to avert a shutdown, secure our borders, and create a debt commission to curb reckless federal spending. That failed due to Democrats and unserious Republicans. Today, I voted to secure our borders, to ensure our service members, particularly those at Selfridge, don’t miss a paycheck and to give our House majority forty five days to continue passing conservative appropriations bills,” said James. “Democrats caused a needless fire drill during this process, literally. But Republicans focused on governing, and we got the job done. Mission first, people always.”
