Rep. John James (MI-10) joined Fox News’ Bill Hemmer for an interview about the ongoing UAW strike dominating Midwestern cities, including those around his district:
“The fight is not between the union and the Big Three. The fight is actually between the automotive industry and this bureaucracy in Washington D.C. that’s sending our paychecks to China and our jobs to Mexico. We need to make sure that we have a policy in this EV [electric vehicle] transition that doesn't leave American auto workers behind,” James said on Fox.
“This administration doesn't care about the UAW. It doesn't care about the automotive industry. It cares about its climate change religion, and it has no idea what their policies are doing for average Americans who need to work to make a living. We need to have folks here who understand what it takes—people representing the 10th Congressional District, the number-one manufacturing district—to understand the implications of these actions. The billions of dollars and penalties levied on the automotive industry for noncompliance, this EV comply-or-die [mandate] that's being pushed down by the D.C. bureaucracy from Joe Biden, doesn't care about working Americans, despite what they may tell you.”
