Today, Representative John James (MI-10) recognized the passage of his Congressional Review Act (CRA) resolution to overturn the Biden Administration’s National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) joint employer rule. The rule has forced liability on companies for another business’ employees even if they do not directly oversee them, and costs franchise and small businesses billions.

Rep. James released the following statement after the House passed the resolution:

“The American people don’t want the government telling them how to start or manage a business. I hear too often from politicians talking about creating jobs—politicians can’t create jobs, but they sure can kill them. And that’s exactly what Joe Biden’s joint employer rule is doing: killing jobs and killing the American Dream,” James said. “I’m proud that my colleagues have joined me in providing a check on these suffocating regulations. Small businesses are the backbone of our economy and have helped millions, including my family, achieve the American Dream. Bureaucrats don’t create jobs, businesses create jobs. I’m proud to stand up and fight for small businesses in my district, and districts across the country.”

This is James’ fourth legislative initiative to pass the House since he was sworn in as congressman for Michigan’s 10thCongressional District. Click here to read the resolution text.
