Congressman John James Moves to Block CCP-Backed Companies from Receiving Taxpayer Dollars

John James introduced the “No American Tax Dollars to CCP Act,” which ensures that corporations influenced by “foreign entities of concern,” like a Chinese Communist Party-backed company, do not benefit from American tax credits. “Hardworking Americans who are already struggling under the Biden inflation crisis should not be forced to subsidize Chinese companies. We need to unleash and grow our economy, but not by selling our national security to the highest bidder. There are examples of this happening right here in Michigan," James said, noting the proposed Gotion Electric Vehicle Battery Plant in Michigan less than 100 miles from Camp Grayling. “Financing the Chinese Communist Party only emboldens their quest for power and puts our nation at risk.” Rep. "In order to restore America's manufacturing, energy, and agricultural independence, we must first establish guardrails on how taxpayer subsidies can be spent," James said. "This bill is an important step toward that goal: America is open for business, but we are not for sale.” As a member of House Foreign Affairs Committee, James has been a vocal advocate for countering the Chinese Communist Party’s grand strategy to seize control of the U.S. economy. ### |
