Today, Rep. John James (MI-10) took to the House Floor to expose Jennifer Granholm’s failures both as U.S. Energy Secretary and Governor of Michigan, and called for her salary to be reduced to $1.

James pointed to Michigan’s “Lost Decade” under Granholm when the state endured a crippled economy, mass job loss, a wave of home foreclosures, and a host of shuttered businesses—only for Granholm to jet off to California to teach at Berkeley following her term.

Now, that same malpractice, malfeasance, and mistreatment of Michiganders has defined her tenure at the Department of Energy, from selling off our strategic petroleum reserves to mortgaging Americans and our national security.

James made the following remarks:

“The consequence of Granholm’s failures is the reason folks in my district are standing on a picket line right now. The unrealistic, untimely, and unjust forced EV mandates she supports is building the Chinese middle-class on the backs of middle-class families in Michigan and so many other states across our country—it’s time for her to pay,” James said. "She failed in Michigan, and we can’t let her fail in America.”
